Agribusiness Technology Agency of Sao Paulo
APTA (Brazilian acronym for Agribusiness Technology Agency of Sao Paulo State), is linked to the Agriculture and Supplies Secretary of Sao Paulo State, owns the mission of coordinating and managing scientific and technological activities focused on agribusiness. Its physical structure comprises the Agronomic Institute of Campinas (IAC), Biological Institute (IB), Institute of Agricultural Economics (IEA), Fishery Institute (IP), Food Technology Institute (ITAL), Institute of Animal Science and Pasture (IZ), the strategic Management department (DGE), and 15 regional centers (Pólos Regionais) strategically distributed across Sao Paulo state.
APTA research Institutes attend to technological demand of many agribusiness production chains, using its potential of knowledge generation and exchanging, aiming sustainable development (focus in innovation with social and environmental responsibility). For this, the Institutes are supported with their professionals and technicians.
Through their research activities and production of gods and services, APTA Institutes contribute to regional development, to scientific and technological innovation, for the fortification of agribusiness-based economy.
